The HCM Setup sub-module contains the configuration screens used before day-to-day HR transactions can run correctly. These pages define shared reference records such as tags, skills, disciplines, performance categories, organisational tracks and roles, pay items, staff groups, and the process templates used for confirmation, onboarding, and offboarding.
HCM setup data is foundational. It is reused by employee records, workforce management, leave, payroll, performance management, and staff self-service. A small change here can affect how staff are classified, how approvals flow, how payroll items are calculated, and how roles are presented in the organogram.
