Setup

The HCM Setup sub-module contains the configuration screens used before day-to-day HR transactions can run correctly. These pages define shared reference records such as tags, skills, disciplines, performance categories, organisational tracks and roles, pay items, staff groups, and the process templates used for confirmation, onboarding, and offboarding.

Concepts

HCM setup data is foundational. It is reused by employee records, workforce management, leave, payroll, performance management, and staff self-service. A small change here can affect how staff are classified, how approvals flow, how payroll items are calculated, and how roles are presented in the organogram.

How To Use HCM Setup

  1. Open HCM -> Setup.
  2. Select the setup page that matches the record you want to maintain.
  3. Use the list page to search, filter, or open an existing record.
  4. Click New when a new setup record is required.
  5. Complete the required fields and save the record.
  6. Review the saved record from the view page before it is used in dependent HCM workflows.

Setup changes should be reviewed carefully because they may be reused by staff records, payroll runs, leave workflows, appraisal templates, or organisational reporting.
